KEY COMPONENTS

The MAX9722 stereo headphone amplifier is designed purely for portable equipment where board space is at a premium. The MAX9722 utilises a unique DirectDrive® technology to produce a ground-referenced output from a single supply, eliminating the need for large DC-blocking capacitors, which saves board space, and reduces component height thus allowing the compact design of the EL2 The WM8740 is a stereo digital/analogue converter (DAC) that supports a SPI-compatible serial control interface to support on-chip mute, attenuation and phase reversal, as well as a hardware controllable interface. This device accepts data input from 16 to 24-bits and sampling rates up to 192 kHz. The WM8716 also includes a digitally controllable mute and attenuator function on each channel.
